Many of the pictures are described in detail and extensive biographical information is provided for the majority of the artists represented. Includes a special exhibition by the American Art Union, which included several well-known Bierstadt pictures, as well as paintings by mostly well-known Americans. The first part of the catalogue includes many foreign works, and lists the present owners. Good+ Sections of text block are seperating from stapled binding. Chipping to extremities of covers, soiling to covers.
